Was this the most fabulous Paris Spring fashion week ever?

I used to be available (@anahitaglitters) for the beaucoup wow moments of the season: Gucci’s Parisian takeover! Hedi Slimane’s debut at Celine! Saint Laurent’s walk-on-water fashions! Chanel’s indoor seashore! The venues have been far-flung — metaphorically and actually — leaving little room for Champagne (although it was served at Celine in branded mini bottles).

In between the grandeur have been pockets of sartorial paradise. From Manish Arora’s “Women Simply Wanna Have Enjoyable”-themed assortment to John Galliano’s prairie-dress parade, wardrobe wanderlust was in full swing. 

Feather climate

Take flight in the season’s most pleasant trim. Gucci’s woman goes magpie in neon, whereas Valentino and Loewe cuff their frocks with main plumage. Dramatic skirts (and purses) lead the flock at Rochas, whereas Dries van Noten’s muse wears feathers in her hair.

Tinker tailor

Razor-sharp shapes sliced by way of Paris’ edgiest runways. Balenciaga toyed with ruching, tucked seamlessly into V-shaped waistbands. Givenchy’s exactly formed jackets had a starring position sans shirting. In the meantime, breakout star Marine Serre confirmed skirt fits that hit all the proper angles.

Take a bow

Spring’s sweetest sleeper hit is match to be tied. Whether or not completed in satin draped elegantly atop denim clothes at Miu Miu, cinched at the waist at Manish Arora, or styled asymmetrically on prime of mismatched suiting at Maison Margiela, designers tied ’em on.

Tulle of the commerce

At Dior, fashions sashayed down the runway in ballet-pink skirts styled with matching, ribbon-trimmed slippers. Off-White’s athleisure fanatic wears her tutu with the season’s It sneaker, whereas at Thom Browne, a whispering tuft of tulle contrasts with outrageously tailor-made straitjackets.

Bathing beauties

Designers had seashore on the mind, led by Chanel’s postcard-perfect set full with sand, roaring waves and a trés stylish, one-shouldered maillot paired with denim. At Saint Laurent’s palm-tree paradise, a finale of animal-print items walked on water, whereas Jacquemus’ glamour woman was decked out in jewels and the most main purse.

Eye spy at Valentino

Make-up legend Pat McGrath put her fantastical contact on Valentino’s impeccable present. Fashions’ eyes have been surrounded by dazzling Swarovski crystals in vibrant shades of violet and lime inexperienced (to match the shade palette of the assortment). With strutters’ faces made up like superheroes in couture-inspired items, it’s no marvel the finale obtained a standing ovation.

Hedi’s new Celine

Hedi Slimane unveiled his first assortment for Celine (née Céline), ditching the accent, in addition to Phoebe Philo’s minimalist aesthetic.
