The Imo State Police Command have arrested extra members of a kid trafficking syndicate in reference to the sale of a new child baby boy for N550,000.
Parading the suspect and others on the command’s headquarters in Owerri on Wednesday, the state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, mentioned an 18-year-old mom, Nwaokwe Chijioke, of Ogada Atta in Ikeduru L.G.A, conspired with Onyinyechi Chibueze, 29, of Amaruru Iho – Dimeze in Ikeduru L.G.A and a trainee nurse, Nwokeogu Lilian Chinwe, 35, of Dikenafai in Ideato South L.G.A, to promote her baby.
“The suspects conspired and bought a 4 months old baby boy delivered by Nwaokwe Chijioke to the proprietor of Unity Hospital Anara in Isiala Mbano L.G.A the place Nwokeogu Lilian Chinwe is a trainee nurse. Suspects have made helpful statements to the police confessing to have acquired the money sum of 5 hundred and fifty thousand naira (N550, 000.00) as proceeds from the sale from the proprietor of the hospital who remains to be at giant. Investigation is in progress as efforts are been beefed as much as apprehend the proprietor of the hospital and restoration of the baby boy.” the CP mentioned.
