The Nationwide Company for Meals and Drug Administration and Management (NAFDAC) says it has uncovered a cartel answerable for unlawful importation and warehousing of some banned and managed medicine estimated at N105m at Ijora, Lagos State.
In response to an announcement signed by the Director-Basic of NAFDAC, Professor Moji Christianah and made obtainable to journalists on Friday, the warehouse was stocked with 187 cartons of assorted Tramadol and 49 cartons of Diazepam amongst other illegally imported, banned and managed pharmaceutical merchandise.
Adeyeye mentioned that the warehouse and its house owners had been found and apprehended following a tip-off and a coordinated surveillance mounted on the property.
The assertion reads: “The company’s operatives at about 1:00hrs on September 14, 2018 raided a transit warehouse at Ijora Ororo, Lagos State and found 187 cartons of assorted Tramadol (120mg, 200mg and 225mg respectively) and greater than 49 cartons of Diazepam (a managed drug) hid amongst home items together with bicycle, used tyres and printers. “The seized merchandise, valued at N105,650,000 million, have been evacuated from the transit warehouse for vital motion and additional investigation,” the assertion learn.
