The Katsina State Command of the Nigerian Immigration Providers (NIS) have arrested a suspected human trafficker, Asia Rita and rescued seven trafficking victims in Katsina State.
The NIS comptroller in the state, Ajisafe Olusola, who confirmed the arrest in Abuja on Tuesday, mentioned that the suspect and victims have been intercepted by the NIS operatives hooked up to Magama, Jibia Management Put up.
“The victims are aged between 44-11 years and all are Nigerian residents. three out of them are from Oyo state, 2 from Lagos state, 1 from Bayelsa State and 1 from Ogun state respectively” Olusola mentioned.
He mentioned 5 of the suspected victims obtained their touring paperwork on 25th of July, 2018 whereas the opposite two on 27th of July, 2018 respectively.
The comptroller mentioned that the suspect, Rita, 44, was in possession of a residence visa of Libya and her passport indicated that she travelled often.
He additional alleged that the trafficker wished to cross Niger Republic together with her victims after which Libya, or some other nation in Europe.
