The person suspected of killing George H.W. Bush’s heart specialist has dedicated suicide as police closed in on him.
Joseph James Pappas, 62, was needed by police for the homicide of Dr Mark Hausknecht in Houston, Texas on July 20. It’s believed he killed the famend heart specialist in revenge for the operating-room death of his mom in 1997.
Pappas shot himself in the head on Friday morning in Houston as cops surrounded him close to the Brays Bayou Greenway Path, Police Chief Artwork Acevedo stated.
Responding to a 911 name from a witness, police discovered Pappas strolling close to Bob White Drive and Imogene Road, about 3.5 miles from Pappas’ house, shortly after 9.30am on Friday. Pappas was sporting physique armor and refused to indicate his proper hand when ordered to by the first officer on the scene, Acevedo stated.
As a number of officers surrounded Pappas, he produced a firearm and shot himself in the head, Acevedo stated.
The suicide dropped at a conclusion an enormous manhunt for Pappas, a former police officer who was nicely educated in the use of firearms and stated to be a superb marksman.
Pappas had allegedly been plotting to kill Dr Hausknecht since the death of his mom, Julia Alice Walker, whereas in Dr Hausknecht’s care in April 1997 at the age of 69.
