In an effort to curtail abuse of Codeine containing cough syrup, the federal authorities has recalled about 2.four million bottles of codeine from circulation.
Minister of Well being, Isaac Adewole, disclosed this whereas receiving a report from the Nationwide Company for Meals and Drug Administration and Management (NAFDAC) after an audit path of the banned substance. It was found that 2,405,724 bottles of Codeine continues to be in circulation.
Receiving the audit report from NAFDAC, Adewole, stated
