The Legal professional-Common of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has written a letter to the High Court docket of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, Abuja, demanding the immediate resumption of the trial of Dino Melaye which was adjourned indefinitely to allow him attend to his failing well being.
The letter, dated June 4, 2015 and titled ‘Re: Cost No. CR/106/18: FRN V Senator Dino Melaye; Request for a date for trial’, was despatched to the Chief Registrar following Melaye’s resumption of legislative duties on the Senate on Could 30th.
Recall that on Could 17th, Justice Olasunbo Goodluck had adjourned the case indefinitely, pending Melaye’s discharge from the Intensive Care Unit of the Nationwide Hospital in Abuja, the place he was then admitted because of this of accidents he sustained after leaping out of a shifting car when he was arrested by the Police.

“My lord, following his elimination from the ICU, discharged from the Nationwide Hospital, Abuja and his subsequent resumption of responsibility on the Nationwide Meeting exactly on Could 30 and 31, we humbly apply for a date for the prosecution to open its case in keeping with the ruling of this honourable courtroom cited above and listening to notices served accordingly”.
