NIGERIAN ACTRESS FUNKE AKINDELE-BELLO TO SPEAK HAUSA IN HOLLYWOOD MOVIE “AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR”

 

Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele Bello popularly known as Jenifa has been cast in a Hollywood movie.

She will be playing the role of a Dora Milaje (pronounced as “dora-meh-LAH-shay”) member in Marvel’s AVENGERS: Infinity War slated for an April 2018 release.

Funke will join a female team of personal bodyguards for Black panther, all recruited from Wakanda. Apart from their protective function, they are a group of powerful and superior Wakandans. Her character is expected to speak in Hausa dialect, as that is the traditional language of the Wakandans though only spoken to the king and each other.

According to the storyline, the Dora Milaje were assembled as a group of potential suitors for king. The Wakandans put forth a daughter from every tribe to maintain peace and ensure every tribe had a chance at the crown.

IMDb stated that other casts in the movie include Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Chris Hemsworth, Josh Bromlin, Tom Hiddleston, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Batista, Don Cheadle, Dana Gurira, (leader of the Dora Milaje) among others.

Nigerians have shown their support with promises to go the cinemas en-masse when the movie is released in mid-year.
